It doesn’t happen often, but on occasion one of my older kids forget their lunch.  Today I made up a few care packages that can be kept in their lockers to use in just such a case, or if they are extra hungry on a given day.  While these snacks aren’t as healthy as fresh fruit, they will stand the test of time and eating something is better than going hungry.  I through a few extra into the back of my vehicle today too.  I’m thinking they will come in handy when we get delayed while out doing errands or need a little energy boost on the drive home from a field trip.

To assemble these little backup stashes I just bought some of their favorite prepackaged snacks and combined them in a small sandwich bag.
